Better late than never....

It will be 9 months next week that Mark and I set off on our epic adventure... And I have finally decided to start the blog!! My posts may start jumping around as I have 9 months of amazing travels to remember... But hopefully they will all come together and provide a fab story of our unbelievable experience.

Wen we left Adelaide Airport on January 10, we really had no idea how long we were going to be away. In fact, we still do not have an answer to that! All we knew was that we were set to take on the epic challenge of moving to the other side of the world with open minds.

Leaving our families at the airport was a weird feeling. My sister Jenna had just found out she was pregnant, and I had to come to the realization that I would not meet my new baby niece or nephew until he/she was at least 1... As for everyone else, I wondered how they would change whilst we were away. But we said our goodbyes and shed a few tears and that was it, Mark and I were on our lonesome, on our way to Singapore.

Two nights were spent in a cool little backpackers in Singapore. I have never seen a cleaner city.. There was not one piece of graffiti to be found.. And trust me, I looked! The architecture in this city was amazing.. But it didn't really make sense. The buildings were very modern.. And didn't seem to match each other - but this is what we loved! We spent most of our time walking around the city, even though the humidity was crazy high. We did the cliche touristy things such as the 'Hop on Hop off' bus and a boat ride... But after two days we were ready to board our flight to our new home!!

If we were feeling sleepy after a 13 hour flight, flying into London at 5:30am on a crisp April morning certainly woke us up. Swapping our shorts and singlets for layers upon layers, we caught the Tube to our accommodation. After arriving at our not so cheap hostel in Soho, we set out for a walk down busy Oxford Street. And gee whiz was it busy.. Nothing like the Main Street of Nuriootpa that's for sure. As this was not my first time in London, I started to point out the different sites and shops to Mark, however all he was worried about was finding a pub to watch the Collingwood V Carlton game. A pub was not found that day, and a good thing as the Pies were smashed!

The rest of the weekend was spent sightseeing... London Eye, Big Ben, Leicester Square, Buckingham Palace... The Lonely Planet guide that Mark was given as a present from the teachers at Eudunda certainly came in handy.

Fast forward a few days and we had found a (small) flat to live in Fulham and Mark had started teaching at West London Academy... Stay tuned for more to come :)
